Jazz Rock Blends Contemporary, Classic Hits

On Friday, April 20th, 2012, the Dwight-Englewood Upper School student club Jazz Rock performed its second biannual show.  Comprised of lead vocalists, backup vocalists, and instrumentalists; Jazz Rock is a longstanding D-E student club tradition and is open by audition only. This spring, the performers put on a powerful show with a strong program that featured both contemporary and classic rock as well as alternative tunes, with a few love songs sprinkled in the mix.



The program included the following:
  1. Gina Marie Enriquez ‘14 sang Valerie, by Winehouse
  2. Daniel Shlien ‘14 sang Good Times/Bad Times, by Led Zeppelin
  3. Heather Braverman ’15 sang a rendition of The Cave, by Mumford & Sons
  4. Julia Kim ’12 sang Loving You Was Like A Party, by Shaw
  5. Melissa Rosner sang Man I Feel Like A Woman, by Twain
  6. Instrumentalists performed Moby Dick/Voodoo Chile, by Zeppelin/Hendrix, featuring Senior Danny Chang on the bongos
  7. Estee Levy ’13 sang Arlandria, by Foo Fighters
  8. Elizabeth Weinstein ’12 sang Guns N Horses, by Goulding
  9. Nigel Lassiter ’14 sang Let Me Love You, by Mario
  10.  Carolyn Wright ’12 sang Rumour Has It, by Adele
11.  Brian Park ’12 sang Shower The People, by Taylor
12.  Michael Friedrich ’13 sang Paradise, by Coldplay
