Spirit Week 2014 in Full Swing!

It’s that time of the year again where all D-E students get into the Bulldog spirit with daily activities and dress-up themes - aka, Spirit Week! Click here to access The Official Guide to Spirit Week 2014, and read on for the overview:

Below is the schedule and more Spirit Week details for the Upper School:
Monday: Pajama Day
Lunch: 9th Grade vs. 11th Grade Soccer Games and donut on a string

Tuesday: Twin (Dress Alike) Tuesday
Lunch: 10th Grade vs. 12th Grade Soccer Games and Chubby Bunny

Wednesday: Wacky Wednesday
Lunch: Consolation Soccer Game and Human Knot

Thursday: ACT (Any Country Thursday)
Lunch: NO soccer game or grade competition
***Assembly period will be used for Door Decorating - judging will take place from 2:45-3:25 p.m.***

Friday: D-E School Spirit Day
Lunch: Championship Soccer Game and Saltine Cracker Challenge
Last period: Closing Ceremony in Schenck Auditorium

Lunchtime activities, which take place on Leggett Field, include: donut-eating from a string, fuzzy bunny, human knot and a saltine cracker challenge. In addition to an ongoing soccer game, which will earn the winning team 20 points, weeklong competitions for students to earn points for each grade include special math and chess "spirited" problems of the week, your class banner, the candy jar and a coin war - where the grade with the most money in coins will win and select the organization/charity to which to donate the collected funds.

Here are the standings as of Monday afternoon:
  • 9th Grade: 77 points
  • 10th Grade: 72 points
  • 11th Grade: 125 points
  • 12th Grade: 108 points

Down in the Middle School, the schedule of themes slightly vary:
Monday: Pajama Day
Tuesday: Wear Pink for Breast Cancer Awareness
Wednesday: Wacky Wednesday
Thursday: Home Base Colors
Friday: Sports Jersey Day

And on Friday, the Lower School will also participate in D-E Spirit Day.

Spirit Week will close with a Coffee House on Friday night in Hajjar Auditorium at 7:30 p.m. The evening will include a variety of different performances from our students, accompanied by food and drinks.

On Saturday, October 25th, check out and cheer on our Bulldog teams at one or all of the five home games! Visit www.d-e.org/athletics to confirm all times and locations/directions closer to the day, but here is the schedule for now:
  • Girls Varsity Volleyball at 1:30 p.m.
  • Girls Varsity Tennis at 1:30 p.m.
  • Girls Varsity Soccer at 1:30 p.m.
  • Boys Varsity Soccer at 3:30 p.m.
  • Varsity Football at 3:30 p.m. (Winton White Stadium, 30 Durie Ave., Englewood)
