The Eighth Grade Poetry Festival is a long-standing tradition at D-E. Students choose a poem to study in depth. Then, they learn it and attempt to communicate its meaning through a recitation in the library. It is one of my favorite days of the entire school year because I get to sit and listen to poetry delivered by students who enjoy it, who understand it, and who have worked incredibly hard to share their knowledge with an audience.

This year’s Poetry Festival took place on Thursday, January 29, and included (pictured) Linda Chen ‘19, Ryan Gross ‘19, Ehren Layne ‘19, and Jayna Waldman '19.
