Folks,

Well, even the best laid plans can go astray. As you are aware, D-E is
closed today due to the poor weather conditions. While I know that the
students were eagerly looking forward to their DC trip, the safety of
everyone is of utmost importance and has to be the deciding factor in
situations like this. With that in mind and given the tough conditions
here and the extreme cold in DC, we are postponing the DC trip.

We will need time to work through the myriad of details that such a
huge trip like this entails.  James has already put in several hours
over the past two days and I know he and I will be putting in several
more today and in the days ahead.  The most important decision that
needs to happen first is that we will need to find a time in our own
DE calendar that will work for our students and our teachers.  From
there, we will work with the tour company to rearrange the trip
details.  Again, this will take time. When we have some definite news,
we will communicate with you so that you, too, can make any necessary
adjustments to your family calendar.

Thank you for your patience and understanding as we cope with this
unexpected weather.  I am confident that our 8's will have a fabulous
experience in DC, just a bit later in the school year than planned!

If you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to contact
either me or James. Stay warm today , hug your child, and Go Bulldogs!
