The student clubs CODES (Community Outreach for Dwight-Englewood School) and TCC (Teens Connecting Communities) are once again co-managing a donations initiative within the D-E Upper School, this time on behalf the Englewood Chamber of Commerce annual Toy Drive.
The Toy Drive benefits local area children and is underway through Friday, December 15. Collection bins are located in Klein Campus Center and Hajjar STEM Center. Toys should be new and unwrapped; if requiring batteries please include those with donations. No violence-related toys will be accepted.

The Winter Arts Festival 2017 offers a visual and performing arts 'feast' featuring D-E Middle and Upper School student work in a wide range of media and live performances by African drumming, string/orchestral, wind, choral, and handbell ensembles. With three evenings total of featured concerts that start on Thursday, November 30 and run through Wednesday, December 6, arts lovers will not be disappointed. Free admission! The third annual Leggett-Umpleby Lecture at Dwight-Englewood School is taking place on Monday, November 27 at 7:00 PM in Hajjar Auditorium in the Klein Campus Center. All D-E families, faculty/staff, alumni and friends are invited to enjoy an evening conversation on a timely topic.
Ms. Mimi Garcia of the D-E School Faculty is honored to be delivering the 2017 Legget-Umpleby Lecture entitled "Political Satire in the Age of 'Fake News.' "
A long-time enthusiast of humor and avid consumer of news, Ms. Garcia is pleased to lead a discussion which will explore how satirical news has changed the political discourse and what that means for viewers’ understanding and participation in democratic processes.
A 2012 winner of Dwight-Englewood’s Geralyn Kossmann Award, she has been teaching 8th grade English and History for twelve years and is a proud step-mother to graduate Olivia Garcia ’15 and current student Avery Clark-Garcia ’21. Before becoming a teacher, she attended Princeton University and graduated with an A.B. in History with a certificate in Education. Ms. Garcia is member of the 2002 National Championship Lacrosse team and the recipient of the Connie McAllister Award which is “given annually to the player who gives all of herself to the program through participation, effort, selfless dedication, enthusiasm, and heart.” After college, she continued her education at Teachers’ College Columbia University earning a M.A. in the Teaching of Social Studies.

All D-E families, faculty/staff and friends are asked to help area families in need with a donation to the School's annual Thanksgiving Food Drive.
The annual drive, organized and managed by the Upper School (US) club CODES (Community Outreach @ D-E School) benefits the Center for Food Action and has become a holiday tradition. Donation bins are located in Klein Campus Center and Leggett Hall; Umpleby Hall (Middle School); and Drapkin Hall (Lower School). The drive is underway now through Friday, November 17.

Calling all Bulldogs: Get ready for D-E Spirit Week 2017!
The week of Monday, October 16 - Friday, October 20 is "Helping Others: D-E Spirit Week 2017." The Upper, Middle, and Lower Schools at Dwight-Englewood will collaborate to help those in need, particularly those affected by the environmental disasters in Houston, Mexico, Florida, and the Caribbean.
Starting up the 2017-2018 Swartley Gallery Series is painter and caricature artist Dan Springer’s “Concept & Character,” an exhibit featuring both conceptual acrylic paintings and sophisticated caricature work in gallery of D-E’s Swartley Arts Center.
The Dwight-Englewood School (D-E) community will celebrate Commencement and Alumni Reunion 2017 beginning Friday evening, June 2 through Sunday, June 4, 2017.
This past weekend D-E’s Varsity Ultimate Team (aka “The Plastic Bulldogs”) won 4th place at the NJ State Tournament, which is the highest ranking achieved by the team thus far at states.
Two teams from D-E traveled to NJIT (New Jersey Institute of Technology) to compete at the 32nd Annual New Jersey Chemistry Olympics earlier this month. Science teacher and faculty co-advisor Dr. Marco Pagnotta explains, “This statewide competition, held at the New Jersey Institute of Technology in Newark, brings together teams from high schools throughout the state to compete in 8 different events that cover a broad swath of chemistry. Our teams started to prepare for this one-day competition in February.”
Join us for the one night only performance of Disney's High School Musical this year's D-E Spring Theatre production, on May 26th at 7:30 PM in Silberfein Gymnasium.
The D-E Performing and Visual Arts Departments will present a special series of visual, musical and dramatic experiences with the Spring Arts Festival 2017, from Tuesday May 16 through Thursday, May 18, featuring the talents of students in all three divisions of the School.
Currently ranked #1 in Bergen County and #4 in the state, D-E Boys' Varsity Tennis last weekend won its 3rd consecutive Bergen County Championship, and 4th in the last 5 years.
Last week, 8 members of Dwight-Englewood’s "varsity" Robotics Team, Team 207 Critical Mass, competed for the first time at the FIRST Tech Challenge (FTC) World Championship at St. Louis Union Station.
