Critical Acclaim for CD featuring D-E Music Faculty

Pan, the Flute Magazine published by the British Flute Society, recently critiqued and gave glowing reviews for a new CD featuring D-E Music Faculty orchestral director and flutist John Littlefield (pictured at left). The CD features Flute Quartets Op. 145 by composer Ferdinand Ries (1784-1838).
The magazine's reviewer notes, "The performances are crisp and invigorating, with clearly delineated textures and well-judged balancing of parts....Littlefield plays a gold flute by Sankyo, and produces a clear but warm tone with minimal vibrato, judiciously used to colour more lyrical or dramatic moments."
Other musicians featured on the CD include Aaron Boyd (violin); Ah Ling Neu (viola); and Yari Bond (cello), all of whom have also participated in the school's Head of School Series concerts featuring 315 East: A Chamber Ensemble.
