Okayama exchange students, Tomohiro and Satoshi, were welcomed to Dwight-Englewood School (and the US) when they arrived this weekend at JFK Airport (see photos at left). They will stay at the homes of Upper School students Amanda Turen and Jamie Griffiths for two weeks and attend classes at D-E. While at school, they will "shadow" other Upper School students Bianca Di Giovanni and Chris Rodriguez.
Janet Glass, faculty member, notes, “The exchange program between Dwight-Englewood School and Okayama Hakuryo is a 19-year tradition! This program was initiated when Japanese was first launched as a foreign language offering at the school.” D-E students spend their spring break at a rural private school near Osaka, and the Japanese students visit in the fall. Email Ms. Glass for more information.
