Bulldogs Bark In Second Half

Jim Panepinto
The D-E Bulldogs 2014 Varsity Football Team closed out their season in thrilling fashion as they overcame a 12 point halftime deficit to win the Hudson Valley Football League's 2014 Hudson Bowl Game over visiting Harvey School of Katonah, NY by a final score of 20-12 at Winton White Stadium in Englewood.
Senior Jason Dargan connected with teammate and buddy, fellow senior Aleem James for two third quarter TD passes and senior kicker Martin Lecole converted both PAT's to put the Bulldogs up for good 14-12. Senior WR Ryan Levin made a fine catch and run that allowed James to tack on an insurance TD run midway through the 4th quarter to provide some breathing room.
A gritty defensive effort was led by juniors Dallas Devlin, Joe Saffioti, and Jeff Strauss along with soph Oliver Oz and frosh Dom Fermin and Anthony George.
Junior WR-DB Anthony Ruggiero sparked the second half comeback with his fine 25 yard return of the Harvey kickoff to start the half. The Bulldogs finished the 2014 season with a record of 5 wins, 2 losses, and 0 ties.
Playing in their last game of their careers for D-E football were senior captains Jason Dargan, Luke Drobner, Aleem James, Martin Lecole, and Ryan Levin.
