Taylor Krakower '16 Scores History; Upcoming Games

Contributed by Eli Goldberger, US Athletics Director

This past Saturday, the girls varsity soccer team routed Secaucus 7-0 as Taylor Krakower '16 became the Bulldogs' all-time leading goal scorer with 138 goals - three more than former record holder Rachel Cole '12. It's no surprise that just yesterday, she was named The Record's H.S. Female Athlete of the Week!

"Taylor and the entire team all were very committed to working together on helping her achieve (more) goals at the game," said girls varsity soccer coach Eddie Ballas (pictured with Taylor). "They all knew that this was a chance for her to try and break the school record. She was, of course, under stress, but the team came together really well, doing their part to help her try to stay calm and focused. And when she made that goal, they all came together, and it was a great day for everyone!"

Additionally, the varsity football team defeated Forman 32-6 on Saturday - setting up a rematch for this weekend, when they will host Connecticut's Forman School in the Hudson Valley League "Pride Bowl" at Overpeck Park in Palisades Park at 4:30 PM.

The NJSIAA state playoffs also started this week. Girls soccer will travel to Morris Catholic High School on Thursday for their quarterfinal matchup at 2:00 PM, and on Friday, the boys varsity soccer team will host Montclair Kimberley Academy here on Solomon Field at 2:00 PM. With no classes scheduled for Friday, I hope all who are around will come support the Bulldogs as they look to extend their season!
