The MS Girls tennis team lost 5-0 to the Tuxedo Park Boys tennis team. At number one, Emma Hazelton lost 8-0 and Brianna Sorkin playing at number two also lost 8-0. Both players were in many of the games, but couldn't capitalize on the opportunity. However, they gained important experience and are learning how to play under pressure. Franki Gallo and Hyeri Chun also lost at first doubles 8-1, and Kayla Sorkin and Nehir Ozden came the closest to winning and were one point away from taking the match to a tiebrekaer, but lost 8-6. Our final doubles match was Aryana Ramos-Vazquez and Katia Jebejian who stayed on the court the longest, but lost 8-3. After the matches were complete, our other players played exhibition matches and hit with each other on open courts.
The girls will take this valuable experience into their next match on Thursday where they meet the tennis powerhouse Horrace Mann.
Hope to see you at the DE courts on Thursday at 3:30.
