HELEN JEROME

Helen Jerome has spent the last twenty-five years working with children as a counselor, a parent and a volunteer. For the past 21 years, she has been as a parent at Dwight-Englewood and joined the Admissions Office in 2012. Presently, she is the Dean of Admissions.

Her husband, Marc '85,  and their three daughters, Hanna '14, Sophie '18, and Lucy '22 attended Dwight-Englewood. Helen attended the Dalton School in New York City where she was a “lifer.” She graduated from Tufts University where she earned her B.A. with honors in Art History.  She received her M.S. Ed in Counseling Psychology at Teachers College, Columbia University.  Previously she was an assistant pre-school teacher at Madison Avenue Presbyterian School in New York City.  She also worked at IS 218 in Washington Heights as a counselor to middle school girls.

 

Helen has been an active member of the Dwight-Englewood community as a parent, volunteer, chairperson of several committees and a board member of the Parents Association. She is passionate about working with young children and their families. She has a unique perspective as a native New Yorker, parent and member of the D-E Admissions team.
