A window into an ancient world-- Latin teacher Ms. So explains to her class how archeologists discovered plants important in ancient Pompey. Some of these plants are still in cultivation -- in our own garden.
Latin students will research and propagate these plants to learn more about how they were important to Roman culture and remain relevant today. In these pictures the class kicks off their project by visiting the garden and interacting with some of the plants already in place. Many are herbs or flowers and so invite tasting and smelling as well as observation.
