D-E Presents Spring Arts Festival 2017

The D-E Performing and Visual Arts Departments will present a special series of visual, musical and dramatic experiences with the Spring Arts Festival 2017, from Tuesday May 16 through Thursday, May 18, featuring the talents of students in all three divisions of the School. 
Cabaret Night 2017 is Tuesday, May 16 at 7:30 PM in Hajjar Auditorium, with performances by the D-E Upper School Stage Band and Dwight Mix vocal ensembles. Directed by Robert DeBellis and Erica Butler, Cabaret Night 2017 will surely sizzle your ears with legendary jazz songs from Duke Ellington, Joe Golson, Billy Strayhorn, and more.
 
On Wednesday, May 17, Middle School (MS) vocal and handbell ensembles will take the stage of Schenck Auditorium at 7:00 PM.  The Middle School Show Choir, Chorus, and Bell Ensembles will perform ‘Walt in Wonderland’ – a suite featuring famous selections from the world of Disney. The music then continues in Hajjar Auditorium with the MS African Drumming and Dance Ensemble ending the night with traditional West African rhythms.
 
Finally, two back-to-back events will take place on the evening of Thursday, May 18 – Orchestra Extravaganza is at 7:00 PM in Schenck Auditorium featuring instrumental ensembles and orchestras from all three divisions of the School, followed by performances at 7:30 PM in Hajjar Auditorium featuring Upper School Handbell Ensembles and Upper School Chorus performing songs from contemporary artists Michael Jackson, John Lennon and Paul McCartney, and more.
 
Adding to the Festival is Middle and Upper School student artwork, from ceramics and mixed-media to paintings and photography, which will be on display throughout Klein Campus Center.
 
Admission to all Spring Arts Festival 2017 events is free.  All D-E families and friends are welcome and encouraged to attend.
