Bulldogs Off to Great Start!

Go Bulldogs! D-E Athletics is excited to report that the Fall 2017 season is off to a great start.
In Varsity Girls' Tennis, D-E defended and won its fourth consecutive Bergen County title last weekend. Beata Liberchuk '18 rallied and won six straight games in the third set of the tourney's first singles finals. The Bulldogs also got a second-singles victory from senior Emily Katz '18 and doubles wins from the pairs of Maddy Kachikian '18 / Olivia Greenberg '19 and Sammy Greenberg '18 / Marion Kemelman '19. Also last week, D-E Boys' Cross Country ended Bogota’s five year, 45-meet winning streak in the NJIC Patriot Division when Jeremy Bronstein '19 led Dwight-Englewood to a 26-30 victory at Garret Mountain. Bronstein clocked 17:06 clocking on the 5,000 meter course: this was the fastest recorded time by any NJIC boy in the six races that were run at Garret. Earlier this season Bronstein 'dazzled' at the Mahwah Season Opener Invitational at Darlington County Park: click here for additional details from nj.com.

Girls' Varsity Soccer won their first round of the County Tournament earlier this week when they beat Cresskill 1-0 in a well-fought match on Solomon Field.

And D-E Varsity Volleyball continues its winning streak having most recently earned 2-0 victories over Ridgefield (9/8/17), Leonia (9/12/17), Harrison (9/14/17), Lyndhurst (9/15/17), New Milford (9/19/17), and Bergen Charter (9/26/17). The team also won the Spike Tourney in Tenafly last weekend.

This upcoming weekend D-E fans can cheer on our Bulldogs at two important matches: Girls' Varsity Soccer will face Mahwah in the 2nd round of the Country Tournament "away" this Sunday 10/1 at 11:00 AM. And D-E Varsity Football has its first game of the season at 1:00 PM this Sunday, 10/1, against the Harvey School.
