Students create portfolios that include samples of their work and experiences at the Lower School. At the end of each year, portfolios are uploaded to google drive as videos. Students can access these videos, year after year, to share and reflect on their Lower School experiences.

We also have a strong robotics program that gives students in the different grades the opportunity to build and program robots that are tied to scientific concepts and challenges, e.g. recycling, cleaning the ocean, space exploration and more.

The following are examples of some of the projects and activities:

• Introduction to coding (Use of Scratch and Hopscotch)
• Author Study: students use Book Creator app to create a book about the author they are studying including a page of info about author and pages about their favorite books
• WeDo 1.0: Students will use legos to build structures and program them to do some movement or task
• Puppet Show based on a favorite book
• Take pictures of the characters and backgrounds from book
• Develop story and act out by moving thru backgrounds and characters
• Intro to Pages
• Students create a document and type something from their journals
• Add image, change fonts, alignment, etc.
• Intro to Numbers
• Take a tally of favorite sports
• Create spreadsheet and graph from tally of friends and family favorite sports
