On March 8, D-E's robotics team, Team 0207, participated in the New Jersey FIRST Tech Challenge (FTC) championships, The Garden State Rumble, at the New Jersey Institute of Technology in Newark. We competed against 47 other teams from New Jersey, New York, Pennsylvania and Connecticut. While we didn't advance to the Super Regionals, we did pick up two awards - and it was also the last meet for the seniors on the team:
The PTC Design Challenge- first place: Toren Arginteanu '15 had 30 minutes to computer design a virtual bot that could sort sea shells by size.
The PTC Design Award- this is a judged team award for using CAD (computer-aided design) software to help design our bot, then carefully documenting that in our engineering notebook, presenting it to a judges panel and showcasing it in our pit at the championships. Toren was also a key player in this second award!
Located in Englewood, New Jersey, Dwight-Englewood is a greater New York City area private school with a rigorous college prep curriculum for boys and girls in preschool through grade 12.
