Today, Tuesday May 31 at 4:00 PM at the Graham Courts here at D-E, our Boys Varsity Tennis team, ranked #1 in Bergen County, will play its final match of the season.  The team is matched against league rival Saddle River Day School.  Coach Joe Iwanski has provided the following pre-match teaser:

"If the Bulldogs win, they clinch their 20th consecutive league title!  Today is also the final match in the tremendous tennis careers of seniors Sam Garden (playing 1st doubles with rising star Brandon Grill), who has won over 50 career matches against only 3 defeats, and Martin Schecter (playing 3rd singles), who is one of the rare players in team history to have won over 80 matches! Catch a glimpse of these guys and maybe get a post-match autograph!"

 

"Today [also offers] a chance for anyone who has not yet seen our first singles player, sophomore Daniel Nuzhny, one of the top players in the state, when he takes on Saddle River Day's Tom Wright, also a terrific player.  At second singles, we have the merely superb junior Nikhil Kokra, whose lone two losses this year are to two of the very top-ranked players in the state.  At second doubles we have the emerging star, sophomore Shanay Amin, who is paired with the also terrific sophomore Martin Yoon.   Even our reserves, freshmen Cameron Janssens and Tejas Akula, have had terrific seasons and will be present on the sidelines for interviews and photographs!"
