Jerald Krauthamer
The Dwight-Englewood boys' cross country team repeated as league champions by defeating Hasbrouck Heights and seven other league teams at the Meadowlands Division race of the NJIC League Championships at Garret Mountain Reservation on Monday, October 13th.
The team was led by the first place finish of senior Ryan Semsel. Fellow seniors David Lysenko (5th), Yu Omiya (8th), Clement Wong (9th), and Spencer Papay (19th) helped cement the victory. Sophomores Zane Diaz (12th) and Michael Kavaler (26th) also contributed to the win. Dwight's closest team rival was Hasbrouck Heights, who had come close to defeating Dwight in an earlier dual meet, but in this championship race the boys defeated Heights in a solid 35 vs. 50 point effort.
