Sara Ragi '14 Wins "Rising Scientist" Award

Senior Sara Ragi has won a Rising Scientist Award from the Child Mind Institute, an organization founded in 2009 that "is dedicated to transforming mental health care for children everywhere." The award, which is given to 10 New York City-area 12th grade students annually each fall, recognizes these seniors "who demonstrate exceptional promise in science."

Sara and the nine other recipients of the second annual Rising Scientist Awards were recognized at the Institute's On the Shoulders of Giants scientific symposium on Oct. 2nd, held at Hunter College's Roosevelt House. Each student received a $500 grant toward supplies, equipment, and books for their school's science department.

Sara is the second Dwightee to receive the award, after Jake Drobner '12 last year, and is the only New Jerseyan recipient amongst those from New York City, Queens, Staten Island, Long Island and Brooklyn.
