D-E families and friends can look forward to a full weekend of (very!) fine arts this Friday, April 11 and Sunday, April 13.
On Friday, April 11 at 7:30 pm in Schenck Auditorium, D-E's Upper School ensemble Jazz Rock will perform its annual Spring Concert. Classic and contemporary hits both will be performed by Upper School vocalists and instrumentalists; an original composition by senior Garrett Finn '14 will also be featured. After the show, there will be a reception sponsored by D-E Parents' Association "Friends of the Arts" (FOTA), in the Wharton Lessin Dining Hall.
Then on Sunday, April 13, beginning at 2:00 pm, D-E families and friends will have the opportunity to enjoy a full range of musical performances and visual arts displays within Schenck Auditorium and the lobbies and hallways of Klein Campus Center. The Orchestra Extravaganza kicks-off the showcase at 2:00 pm, featuring the Lower, Middle and Upper School Orchestras.Following the Orchestra Extravaganza, and before the Upper School Spring Arts Festival concert at 4:30 pm, there will be a delicious reception sponsored by the D-E Parents' Association FOTA. And during the entire afternoon and early evening timeframe, artistic works in all media by Middle and Upper School students will be on display -- including this photograph by D-E senior Bryan Rubin '14. At 4:30 pm the Upper School Spring Arts Festival concert will then take place, again in Schenck Auditorium.
