Andrew Hume is thrilled to be joining the Dwight-Englewood community and Admissions team in 2025. He was drawn to the school’s mission, which gave him goosebumps, and jumped at the chance to work alongside such thoughtful, curious, and passionate educators.

 

Andrew brings 30 years of experience in independent schools. He taught second grade at The College School in St. Louis, his own Middle School alma mater, and later became the school’s Director of Admissions. At Calhoun School in NYC, he served as Director of Enrollment and Relationships and was lucky enough to coach Middle and Upper School sports and teach electives in all three divisions. At Manhattan Country School, Andrew supported families as Director of High School Placement, taught Child Development classes and learned how to milk a cow.

 

He lives in Maplewood, NJ with his partner, two adult children, and two grandchildren he’s always eager to talk about. He enjoys attending concerts and plays, reading books about education and social justice, and rooting for the St. Louis Cardinals and Phoenix Suns.
