Welcome from JD Sand, Athletic Director

Greetings from the D-E Athletic Office,

I am extremely grateful and excited for the opportunity to be a part of the Dwight-Englewood School community. Working in education and specifically in athletics, has meant a great deal to me both personally and professionally. I believe a strong athletic program that provides a positive experience is an integral part of a strong and positive overall educational experience. That is why it’s great to be in a community that understands and supports the view that athletics are an extension of the educational development of D-E students to “seek excellence, honor, integrity and embrace diversity while developing the skills, values, and courage to address the challenges of our ever-changing world” (click here for our full mission statement).

I am looking forward to working with our dedicated coaches and department staff to meet the needs of our students. Together we will help guide and support their growth and development as athletes and as young people by preparing them for future challenges, opportunities and successes on and off the playing “field.”

I look forward to seeing you at our competitions. For current schedules of all D-E games in-season please click here or on the "Calendar & Directions" to Venues link above. A full list of all athletic teams is available from the "Team Pages" link above or click here. Go Bulldogs!

Respectfully,

Welcome from Dat Phan, Associate Athletic Director

Dear D-E Families,

I am excited and honored for the opportunity to be a part of the Dwight-Englewood School community. As an athlete growing up and an educator throughout my career, I have been extremely fortunate to see the positive impact it has had on my life both personally and professionally. I believe a strong athletic program can be instrumental in developing great character and leadership qualities in students while also providing a positive experience for all in an academic environment. D-E is a community that emphasizes that athletics are an extension of the classroom and continues to encourage our students to embrace all that's ahead of them.

I am looking forward to working with our D-E community, and our Bulldogs in the Middle School in particular, to help our students fulfill their unlimited potential and to help guide them along their journeys both academically and athletically.
