Proficiency in not the goal of a FLEX program. Exposure, excitement and enrichment are the intentions of a FLEX program.
First grade students learn numbers, colors, greetings, days of the week and months of the year. First grade students will apply learned vocabulary and phrases related to self, family and school life through culturally authentic songs, stories and traditional games. They also learn vocabulary and terms that are related to their social studies unit called “Houses and Homes”.
